How Starz helps to Keep you Safe

Question:

Should I tell my mum or dad my Starz password

Yes it is ok for a trusted adult to know your log in username and password - your teacher's already know this.

enlightenedBut remember

  • Do not write your password down.
  • Never let anyone other than a trusted adult know your password.
  • If you think someone else knows your password - tell your teacher.

Question:

How can I find information on the Internet when I am in Starz?

Use the child friendly safe links and search engines provided for you in the Activities area.
Don't stray from these sites.

 Question:

What should I do if someone sends me a nasty email?

Look for the whistle in the top right of your Starz screen. Use the whistle to report someone or something if you are upset by something or someone in Starz.

Question:

Why can't I send an email to my friend who is in another school?

Email in Starz is so safe that it is called safemail. You will find that you can only send emails to other children in your class or school unless your teachers want you to communicate with other children in Cambridgeshire.

Question:

Can anyone else see my personal space, my emails and my gallery?

Your teacher can see everything you do in Starz so if you think they wouldn't approve of something you have there or something you have said then remove it or don't say it. By clicking on your name through the people button, members of your class or any other community you belong to can see your blog.

 Question:

Could anyone pretend to be me in Starz?

Not unless they know your password but make sure you always LOG OFF and keep your password to yourself or people could use your details without your permission!

Question:

Should I show my mum and dad my Starz space?

You should always show and tell your parents or carers what you are doing on the Internet. Sit them down and talk them through your personal area and show them the content area where you access the internet.
